Hello and Welcome to Texas Aquatic Science. Aquatic Ecosystems and water in general is of vital importance to not only Texas but for the entire planet. We focus and Aquatic life from something as small is a tiny fish bowl with a sad little Betta fish to the wide open ocean and the 100ft long Blue Whale.
I am very excited to teach this subject. As seen in my About page, I got my degree in Aquatic Biology from Texas State University in 2001. However, the thing that lead me to this area of study was my love for all things tropical fish and the aquarium hobby. The curriculum we use in this course was created by partners through the Texas Park and Wildlife department. Texas is unique in that due to its location and size, most natural occurring ecosystem types can be found here. We will study natural and man made ecosystems. We will look at and build aquaria and I will do my best to keep us working with our hands, keeping them wet and or muddy when possible. |
